CHOICE, CHANCE, CHANGE!

There is something that happens with us all when we live this life. We have make choices, which involve chance, and they create change. Seriously, you think about the time that you had a big choice to make in your life, and in that moment involved unknowns of chance, and whether it changed you for the better or the worse, you still grew from it.

Recently I have been reflecting a lot about these three C's. There have been many that have talked about the importance and the power of this words. Its crazy to think how many choices we make daily, monthly, yearly, and our lives. This morning I was watching my YouTubers doing my daily thing and I reflecting on the tasks I have to accomplish today. It's crazy right, I either sit on my butt watch TV or some TV Show or I can get up and start the hustle of the day.

CHOICE

Why do we say "If I had a choice?" We do have a choice, that's the thing. I did not get to where I am today because I allowed others to make choices for me. I have been pondering about the future with a few opportunities I have lately. It has really challenged the Entrepreneur inside of me. As tough as I may think I am,  the entrepreneur lifestyle will in fact wear you out and test you.

Yesterday, I was on the phone with a lot of my close friends that have always been there and been through a lot with me. As I counciled and listened to their comments and direction. It was a revitalization that I had hit a breaking point. I don't mean I was going to give up, but that I was exhausted of acting like everything was going to be okay. I reached a point where it was hard for me to convince myself that it was going to okay, and that the ONE thing whatever that what thing was, was just around the corner.

I could tell you all day the power of choice, but when we are dealing with a big choice, a choice that impacts everyone around, and what you do with your time for next 3 to 5 years. They weigh on you. They break you down to your true self. You become transparent to yourself and those around you. You become real and truthful. These moments where I feel you are given the best influence from mentors, family, and whatever God you believe in. These are moments where you can start see the chance, and change that are about to happen.

CHANCE

After you become real and true with yourself, you see the chance of what you will become. It happens to you probably different than it does for me. You see, I do this thing where I take the Worst case, probably going happen case, and the best case. I bust out excel and crush numbers, I plan on the calendar with three different colors. I look at 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, and 5 years. Pull out my written goals, and dream sheet. I plug in my goals and dreams, I take Megin's School schedule, her goals and dreams. Then I take into account of what will be need: new car, house stuff, equipment, taxes, and investment.

After I have went through all of the three possible outcomes, I make my plans according to the worst case of chance. I will never put all my eggs in one basket because of my experiences, so have educated chance of the unknown now. We talk so much about leaps of faith, take risks, and all of this, but do you know for anyone that is successful. From a Boxer to a CEO the chances they take they know what will happen in a worst case, good case, and best case.

Once I have made the choice and now know that chances are worth it. I have plan, and checkpoint to keep myself to grow and always be changing.

CHANGE

Change is so many times taken as a negative. Why do we do that? Some of the greatest moments in my life are from being forced to change. Were they crazy hard? Oh yeah they were, but to honest they "Changed my life." I believe that when we make the right choice, and we know the chances that come with that choice, we are set and willing to change. Change is a good thing, as stubborn as I am, I can see the need for change and what change will bring a bigger and better outcome to my dreams and goals.

Facts that change is like Newton law "An object in motion will stay in motion." How fast or the time of that motive is always unknown but you see there is journey to that motion and that's the best part. If we can keep our motion moving forward to our dreams and goals, that's when we know we have reached greatness, and success.

Remember no one told you get off the couch, you had to make that choice. Your choices are power and will affect your outcome and will change your life.

Dig Deep for Motivation

Dig Deep for Motivation

This weekend was a tap out for me. I got a head cold and just fought through getting my work done on Saturday, and Sunday was a relax and watch movies all day kind of day. As Sunday night came to an end, I found myself seeking more motivation to make it through the next week. It’s always easy to start beating yourself up or find negative things in our daily lives.

How do we find motivation?

For me it's different all the time. People ask what are your goals and I always answer I have same 10 goals I have ad for past two years, but weekly and monthly goals are different every time. See right now everything for me is to provide for Megin and make sure she has when she need to reach her goals, and then next is a lifelong dream and goal. You see since I was a child I have dreamed of having my own sled or snowmobile or as my wife call them snow machine.

The point is when I am at the gym on the stair stepper  watching sled videos. When I am tired of editing and designing and I have SledHead Magazine motivating me to work hard so I can be in that magazine this next year. You have to remind yourself daily and on some days every few hours of what you’re pushing for. I am not always the best example of motivation, rather an emotional roller coaster.

I can be on cloud 9 and then be struggling in an hour,  it’s just the way it goes for me because I am an all in kind of guy. I go all in, all the time. You should see me in Monopoly or anything that gives me a chance to put it all on the line it’s all or nothing for me. Trust me, I am horrible gambler in Vegas and sometimes on the golf course because I will fight against all odds and bank on myself every time.

Talk about motivation when you go all in. There has been times when I have invested all I have into equipment, or into bills and other things. Sacrifice food or things that I could cut back just to make an educated risk. Motivation is a funny thing, we have to find it all different times in our lives. We have got to find it when everything is good and life is running smooth. We have to find it when things are bad and it would be easier to tap out and just quit. No matter what time it is, you have dig deep q    to find that why and push.

We can never know our true potential until we push through the limits of our abilities and capture something that has never been felt, seen, or achieved before. We control our success.

Hope everyone has an awesome because it's the start of new day, and new week!

WE ARE THE BEST LIARS TO OURSELVES

We are the best liars to ourselves

Let’s start with the word patience. This week was completely nuts, we did so much in one week. I reflect on the week from designing a number of things, shooting products, and making trip to Utah down and back to make a video, and then on top of all that to write a blog post and make a millennialpreneur video everyday. You add that up and I tell you what, it can be exhausting.

The reason why I said patience is in our line of work is if you work 60 hours a week you don’t get paid or rewarded for it right away or a next paycheck. Megin and I have been hustling and creating some amazing opportunities and I tell you what the future is looking so freaking cool. If I can be a little transparent and real for a second.

Being an Entrepreneur, we are the best liars to ourselves.

What do I mean by that? It happens like this: reality is that you think you are the best because you have keep your confidence up, then a bill collector calls and you lose all your motivation because you question yourself. Why we are the best liars? it's pretty simple actually, we constantly are selling ourselves on being okay. Good example, and this real life for me.

Woke up yesterday started killing it with my morning groove, little brother comes over and is talking about how he is going to get a job right? So I do the nice thing as brother and design and help him with his resume. That’s cool no biggie, and then the madness begins. One call from a bill collector about some stupid $10 fee to zero out that account. Then an email from a client that you had 6 months ago that can’t print their images from walmart. Then next phone call is a HOA lady who doesn’t take a card over the phone you have to mail her a check, and she wants it now and she lives in Utah. Hello people it's freaking 2015 get with the times. You see it's already 1 o’clock in the afternoon by this time and a lot of my time and energy has been used.

Then I do what I do a lot of times. I shut off my phone. I start cranking on a design for one my bigger clients. I got my headphones on and I am just cranking. It’s the best when you can get in the groove and you are just creative because you get some much done. Crushed the design and now it’s hurry up and wait to see what they say right? Meanwhile Megin is doing product photography in the other room for Lulu Bella and has two girls over to model. She is killing it and we are getting caught up with everything.

6:30 rolls up and we have everything done on the to do list for the day. Great day right? We should be able to shut off our phone just enjoy a night together right? Nope! We went down to the Klim open house to check out all of their new gear which freaking dope. I get a text message on friday from a old client asking about if I can find a customer service number for them, and then another text about a file, which after the day I had I freaking snap.

Now is where we notice as Entrepreneurs we are great liars to ourselves. We work for people anytime because are growing a business and clients daily, but when those clients call or text in the middle of your personal life, you make it seem you are all nice and joyful that they text you in the middle of your date with your wife. That’s the stuff you don’t see in Entrepreneurship. You have to be nice in text or person when someone ask for things at weird times in the day or late night. I know this has a negative tone today but I want stress that it is stressful working for yourself. It never stops whether you drove 8 hours that day or worked 12 hours because your clients want things done as fast as you can. You can ask an Entrepreneur and they will tell you that the grind sometimes is to be positive when you are not.

I will be honest, I am still not the best at juggling everything from taking care of myself, my personal life, my marriage, then work and growing our business. It's a daily battle. If I am given work I get in and get the work done, I don’t waste time because I want too much in life and I love my job, but I’ll be transparent there is pain in growth and some of that is doing things you hate and that’s where I need more patience in life and in business. Rome wasn’t build in a day, and neither were a million dollar dreams.

Let’s all try to be a little more honest with the guy in the mirror every morning, to allow ourselves to improve. Be a little more real and patience with the guy in mirror and the guy on the other side of the email or text or phone call.

Megin Shearer Story to Entrepreneurship - Episode 4

Megin Shearer Story to Entrepreneurship - Episode 4

On today's episode you guys get a chance to her from my wife about how crazy I am. It is always cool to hear different stories and side. I would say the biggest thing I have found is marriage is to listen. How y'all enjoy!

What I learned from “America's Next Top Model”

What I learned from “America's Next Top Model”

Megin suggested that we watch America’s Next Top Model and I was like what I heck why? Then something happened. You see there is more to this TV Show then seeking the Next Top Model. We started watching and all I saw was PR campaign and photography. I studied Communications in College and Megin is studying the same in Video production. I started taking apart the whole marketing campaign and theme of each seasons. Yeah that’s right seasons. Watched three seasons over the Thanksgiving break.

You see here is this successful model Trya Banks who straight up crushed it as a model, and now is giving back. She is running a damn good brand too. Trya started a talk show, makeup line, and photography business. Now wait I thought she is just a model. You see, the more and more I watched Next Top Model, saw that Trya was a teacher and educator and wanted to help others reach their full potential.

That’s not what got me hooked on the tv show. What got me hooked was the photography. Every photoshoot was like candy for photographer. You see them using the same lighting setup you have, and you them using your camera body and lens, and you start to wonder what I heck I can do this right? I have always been in love with fashion photography, because it selling three things in each image: product, emotion, and the photographer. I love how they push the limits of light in every way possible. These photographers are taking some of the best lighting equipment and pushing the limits of light but it still came down to the model doing their job.

Megin would constantly say dang these photographers are legit. Then while all the drama was happening on the show with silly people, I was researching all of the photographers that were on the show. These photographers are crazy awesome with years of experience and a lot of them had background in being models before. You want to know why? Its because they know how to pose people.

The main reason why Megin and I loved watching Next Top Model in silly little town of Rexburg Idaho is because we were learning posing tricks. I am telling you that every TV show or Movie you should be able to pull lesson away from it. Next Top Model I am pulling about all kinds of tricks that I use and look forward to using because it turning does make a difference. I know I can make photo look legit with lighting and equipment but its being to teach the model or subject in the lens to pose right to make best image possible.

REAP WHAT YOU SOW

I got to start out with a story of a day I had recently that just makes it easier to be an entrepreneur. I woke up, read my article or two, watched Casey Neistat, and hit the gym with Megin. Had good workout and some good conversation. Came home and just started rolling with finishing thing off my to do list, and allows me sometime to start planning and marketing for more weddings in Rexburg and southeast Idaho. Reached out to some of my friends that it had been while since we talked. Then sat down cranked out some videos with Bianca on Millenialpreneur’s. All and all it was a day full of positives.

Seriously, we went out to pick up a pizza and few groceries and a couple of people commented on our recent work. It's amazing to me the principle the Law of the Harvest.

What is the law of the harvest you may ask?

You see, us Idaho boy at an early age moved piped at least one summer. We get to be a part of a farmers grand production. You see it started from a seed, and grew for months with daily care into fully grow crop that is harvested and stored to sell.

How does this relate to us entrepreneurs?

Everything starts from something simple. Newton's law states an object will stay at rest until acted upon. You see, land is not a farmers field until he comes and tills and plows the land and forms a field. Then the farmer must work the topsoil before he plants his seed. Timing is everything because if he plants too soon he risks having a frost, but too late it will be too hot. You see how much work and preparation is educated in step prior to planting seed?

That's why when you get days like I was telling it means so much to you. So much work and preparation went into all those things you had go right that day. This is why success is like farming, you have to work from nothing and form habits that will secure success.

Now I'm no farmer, but I have seen and been around enough to know they is so much research, education, learning, and planning that goes into farming. That's why we as entrepreneurs must seek to research more, educate ourselves more, seek more learning from books, audiobooks, people and then plan out our goals and dreams so we have a road map to success.

No one can make you successful, you have to choose to be successful. Learn from the farmer and his lifestyle and you'll see the benefits of the law of the harvest.
